Collar and Lead run Puppy Courses, Young Dog classes, Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze, Silver and Gold classes and Competitive Obedience training as well as one to one training sessions in Badshot Lea and Upper Hale near Farnham.

The Collar and Lead Club was started in Farnborough in 1985 by the late Michael Delany and his wife Barbara. Their daughter Sarah joined the instructing team in 1992 and is currently the Head Instructor at the club.

The club was initially formed to train handlers and dogs for Competitive Obedience Competitions which it still does today with members competing at all levels including the top Championship level. However the club soon branched out into also holding Pet Training classes using only positive reinforcement techniques for training which is non-punitive and creates dogs which love to learn and want to focus on their owners.

Currently there are two pet courses run for puppies. These are:

These courses are held in Upper Hale, Farnham on Tuesday nights or, when there are sufficient puppies, outside in Badshot Lea during the day on Thursdays, Fridays or Sundays.

There are also classes for puppies which have completed the Puppy Starter course or an equivalent puppy course elsewhere or for older dogs starting out with their training. These classes then continue on to cover the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. This scheme teaches the basics of dog ownership and all dogs are eligible for Good Citizen training. These classes are all held outside in Badshot Lea during the day on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Our Head Trainer also carries out one to one Puppy and older Pet Training sessions at the enclosed field in Badshot Lea.
