The Collar and Lead Club in Farnborough, Hampshire was started in 1985 by the late Michael Delany and his wife, Barbara. It initially served to train handlers and their dogs to competitive obedience level. It now also runs Puppy Classes which is an ideal time to introduce new handlers to the clicker training system. The Puppy Class comprises of 9 week course for 8 - 16 week old puppies. These handlers and their puppies can then progress to starting an obedience career or indeed decide if they want to continue training.

If the decision is to continue training, the Club offers further classes either for companion or obedience dogs, catering from beginner standard to high levels of competitive obedience. All Club trainers are highly experienced and indeed compete at Open and Championship Shows. Many of their dogs that are currently competing at Shows and at Crufts have started their career at our Puppy Classes.

We also incorporate the Good Citizen Dog Scheme into our training programme which teaches the basics of dog ownership. These training courses are straightforward, non-competitive and practical. All dogs are eligible for Good Citizen training, be they pedigree or cross breed, young or old. Courses are straightforward and fit easily into basic obedience and canine socialisation training programmes already in place.

We are listed with the Kennel Club and all our trainers are highly experienced. Training takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
